The DRFTID logo is based on the Shen ring — an ancient Egyptian symbol that has existed for over four thousand years. In hieroglyphics, the Shen ring appears as a circle of rope tied at the base, forming a loop with no beginning and no end.

The Egyptians used it to represent three interconnected ideas: eternity, protection, and wholeness. The circle has no break — it cannot be entered or exited. Whatever is enclosed within it is protected. Whatever is represented by it is whole.
